T-Shirt Memory Quilt Workshop
Are you looking to create a personal gift, or something to pass down to future generations? Most of us have a collection of favorite t-shirts, baby clothes, or beloved garments saved away with the dream of making a memory quilt, but knowing where to start can feel overwhelming!
While you won't finish an entire quilt during class, you'll gain the skills, layout plan, and confidence to finish your heirloom project at home.
We recommend that you bring 12 T-shirts along so that you can learn the technique to finish the quilt at home. This class can also be used to create a smaller quilt using baby clothes (if you can’t bring yourself to donate them).
- Choose and prepare T-shirts for use in a quilt
- Choose how you want the design to look (cluster or column layout)
- Cut and stabilize the T-shirts: learn how to properly stabilize the shirts to prevent stretching
- Explore different block options with or without sashing
- The correct needles for sewing with different types of fabrics: ie, knits, stretch, cottons.
- Assemble the T-shirts into a quilt top
Any fabric & supplies purchased in-store for the workshop will receive a 15% discount
