Let's Sew a Dress! (Or Shirt)
During this 4 week class, we will teach you how to sew a dress from a pattern.
If you do not want to make a dress, we do have a blouse option as well.
You will need to have some basic sewing & garment knowledge as this is a level 2 course.
We will be going over the following skills:
- Measuring & cutting (not in depth of fitting)
- Grainlines of fabric,
- Minor alterations & adjustments
- Collars & facings
- Buttonholes
During this class you will have to do some sewing at home to keep up in between classes.
You may also not finish the garment completely during the 4 weeks, but will have been taught everything you need to know.
Please let us know your choice of pattern and approximate size so that we can assure we have enough in stock for you to purchase in the correct size. (See photo with Finished garment Sizing)
You will not need your fabric until the second week, as we will discuss different fabric options during the first class.
There may also be some homework in between classes to ensure we can move forward each week.
